Jayanthi Tamotharan is a seasoned pharmacist with a strong academic and professional
background. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from the prestigious University of
Malaya in 2001, where she was recognized as the top student of her graduating batch, receiving
the University Malaya and Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society’s Gold Medal for outstanding
academic achievements and active participation in student activities.
Her professional journey began at Klang General Hospital, where she completed her
housemanship and subsequently earned full registration as a pharmacist.
In pursuit of further specialization, Jayanthi recently completed her Master’s degree in Clinical
Pharmacy from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) where she was attached to the UKM
hospital for 2 years in various healthcare clinical disciplines.
With 17 years of extensive experience as a community pharmacist, Jayanthi has worked with
renowned chain pharmacies in the Klang Valley, including Apex Pharmacy, Watsons, and Caring.
Her deep knowledge of the pharmaceutical landscape and commitment to patient care have made
her a trusted professional in the field. Jayanthi's career evolved as she embraced a new challenge,
taking on the role of Head of the Academic Department, where she played a pivotal role in shaping
the future of healthcare professionals. Currently she holds the position as Associate Lecturer in a
private educational institution.
Her diverse expertise allows her to provide consultancy and training in retail, sales, and marketing
within the healthcare & retail sector. Jayanthi continues to practice as a locum pharmacist in
community pharmacies, staying connected with the latest trends and practices in the industry.
